WELCOME
An acorn starts off small and finally breaks free of it's shell, growing into a strong-rooted, mighty Oak tree. It has been weathered with all the seasons, winds and storms and yet it still stands deep rooted and strong. New growth appears and branches reach up towards the sun - we all need to find our inner roots and stand tall like the solid Oak trees that we all are.
Anxiety & Low Self-Esteem

Feeling anxious, uncertain, or low in confidence can affect how we see ourselves and the world around us. You might find it difficult to switch off racing thoughts, feel constantly on edge, or notice that self-doubt and worry hold you back from living the life you’d like.
In counselling, we’ll take time to understand what lies beneath those feelings — the experiences, expectations, and beliefs that may have shaped how you view yourself. Together, we’ll explore ways to calm the body and mind, build self-acceptance, and reconnect with your strengths.
Our work can help you find steadier ground — learning to manage anxious thoughts with compassion, develop confidence in your choices, and begin to feel more comfortable and secure in who you are.
Depression

When life feels heavy, even small things can start to feel overwhelming. Depression can leave you feeling disconnected, exhausted, or unsure how to move forward. You might notice changes in sleep, energy, or motivation — or simply feel a persistent sense that the light has gone out of things that once brought joy.
In counselling, we’ll take the time to gently explore what’s been happening for you and what you need right now. Together, we can begin to understand the feelings behind the sadness, process any pain or loss, and find small steps toward connection, purpose, and hope.
Healing from depression isn’t about ‘fixing’ yourself — it’s about rediscovering your strength, reconnecting with what matters, and allowing light to return, slowly and naturally, in your own time.
Bereavement Grief and Loss

Grief isn’t only about bereavement. We can grieve relationships, health, identity, routines, or stages of life.
Whether you’ve lost a loved one, gone through a separation, or experienced a major life change, therapy can offer a compassionate space to reflect, honour what’s been lost, and begin to reconnect with what still feels meaningful.
Relationships

Relationships can bring connection, comfort, and joy — but they can also be complicated and painful at times. Whether you’re struggling with communication, trust, conflict, or feeling distant from someone close to you, relationship counselling offers a safe space to explore what’s happening.
Together, we can look at patterns in how you relate to others, understand emotional needs and boundaries, and find ways to strengthen your connections. Therapy can help you rebuild trust, improve understanding, and develop healthier, more fulfilling relationships — with others and with yourself.
Whether you’re seeking support as an individual or as a couple, this space is about finding clarity, compassion, and connection again.
Children & Young People

Growing up can be full of change and challenges. Children and young people sometimes find it hard to express how they’re feeling — worries can show up as changes in behaviour, difficulty concentrating, anxiety, or withdrawal.
Counselling offers a safe, supportive space where children and young people can explore their feelings, build confidence, and develop healthy ways to cope.
Using creative and age-appropriate approaches — such as play, drawing, and storytelling — I help young people find their voice and make sense of what’s going on in their world.
Working together, we can explore emotions, strengthen resilience, and build tools to manage challenges now and in the future.
Walk and Talk Therapy

Sometimes, sitting indoors can feel a little too still. Walk and Talk Therapy offers a gentle, reflective alternative — taking our sessions outdoors into the calm and beauty of nature. Walking side-by-side can make it easier to open up, process emotions, and gain new perspectives.
Our first session will usually take place via Zoom or in a counselling room, so we can get to know one another and decide together whether outdoor therapy feels right for you. Each Walk and Talk session lasts 50 minutes. You set the pace — slow and steady or brisk and energising — and I’ll follow your lead.
I offer several local routes in the Hockley area, including nature walks around Cherry Orchard, Gusted Woods, and Magnolia Park — all of which have been risk assessed. Each route offers something slightly different, whether you prefer open landscapes, peaceful woodland, or a mix of both.
Walk and Talk Therapy can be a great way to try something different, especially if you’ve felt stuck in traditional counselling settings. Being outdoors, moving your body, and connecting with nature can all support emotional wellbeing, reduce stress, and promote clarity.
In the event of poor weather, I’ll contact you beforehand to arrange an alternative session via Zoom or indoors if possible. We’ll also discuss how to maintain confidentiality and comfort while walking outdoors.
